2 days trek Mount Toubkal

Embark on a thrilling 2 day trek to Mount Toubkal, the highest mountain in North Africa. Starting in Imlil, trek through stunning landscapes, spending a night at Toubkal Refuge. Day 2 brings an early climb to the summit, rewarding you with breathtaking views before descending back to Marrakech.

Day 1

Marrakech – Imlil- refuge Toubkal: 

Our trek begins with a transfer to the charming village of Imlil. We journey through the Maizane Valley, passing Armed village and reaching the shrine of Sidi Chamharouch. Continuing east, we cross flood plains, following mule tracks up the steep rocky cliffs above the valley. 

Crossing the river, we arrive at the pastoral shrine of Sidi Chamharouch, a spot of attraction for tourists and pilgrims alike. The trail steadily climbs, zigzagging its way to the Toubkal Refuge (3206m), where we spend the night. Approx. 4 to 5 hours of walking.

Day 2

refuge Toubkal – Toubkal summit – Imlil – Marrakech:

In the early morning, we set out to conquer the summit of Jebel Toubkal, the highest peak in Northern Africa. The route takes us up the south cirque, crossing a stream above the refuge. While the walk is relatively straightforward, challenging terrain and altitude add difficulty. 

The spectacular views along the way make the journey immensely rewarding. Upon reaching the summit, breathtaking vistas span in every direction – from the Marrakesh Plain to the High Atlas in the north and extending south to the Anti-Atlas and Sahara. 

Retracing our steps, we descend and return to Imlil, then head back to Marrakech.
