Day 1

Marrakech – High Atlas Mountains – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate – Dades 330km

We will pick you up at 08:00 am from your Riad or any location of your choice, starting our 3-day, 2-night Merzouga desert tour from Marrakech. We’ll cross the Tizi N Tichka pass of the High Atlas Mountains (2260m), enjoying the mountainous road and spectacular Berber villages. Our destination is the UNESCO World Heritage site “Ait Benhaddou village,” a fortified ksar with beautiful Kasbahs.

Ait Benhaddou has served as a natural backdrop for many movie productions. You’ll take a guided walk, crossing the river to explore the Ksar and climbing to the hilltop through Ait-ben-Haddou’s alleys. It’s like strolling through the Middle Ages, offering an incredible view of the fertile Ounila river valley, surrounded by desert landscapes, with the snow-capped Atlas mountains in the background, creating a view that seems to encompass the entire world.

After lunch, we’ll continue to Dades Gorge via Ouarzazate and Skoura, passing through the long Valley of Roses (roses are in season in late May). Upon arriving in Boumalne Dades, we’ll take a secondary road up through Dades gorges. Along the Dades river, we’ll enjoy stunning rock formations (resembling monkey feet) and the scenery of fortified Kasbahs, with the sunset providing a breathtaking backdrop.

We’ll make a stop at the canyons for refreshments or to admire the majestic scenery before continuing to our hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2

Dades Valley – Todra Gorge – Erfoud -Risani -Merzouga 270 km:

Our 3-day, 2-night Morocco Desert Tour to Merzouga continues after a traditional breakfast. We embark on the road of 1000 kasbahs, driving through the colorful Berber villages of the Dades valley to reach Tineghir, a beautiful valley stretching for 15 km, adorned with date palms and culminating in spectacular gorges that are often used for rock climbing.

The journey to the Gorge takes us through lush palmeraies and Berber villages, where we embark on a trek along canyons rising about 300m high. Following this, we’ll head to the Erg Chebbi dunes in the Merzouga Sahara Desert. You’ll have time for lunch in either Tinjdad or Touroug, depending on your appetite.

Upon arriving at the Erg Chebbi dunes, a small off-road track leads you to the edge of the golden dunes where camels await you. Your luggage will be loaded onto a 4×4 car and transported to the camp. You can enjoy a scenic camel ride over the sand dunes, witnessing a majestic Sahara sunset on your way to the camp.

Upon reaching the camp, you’ll be greeted with tea and warm smiles. You’ll be guided to your comfortable private tents, complete with ensuite bathrooms and showers, allowing you to relax and settle in before dinner time.

After a delicious meal, a fire will be lit, creating a festive atmosphere. The staff and cameleers will engage in musical performances under the starry desert night, adding to the enchanting ambiance of the experience.

Day 3

Merzouga – Alnif- Tazarine-Agdez- Marrakech 567 km

Wake up early to relish the sunrise over the towering dunes of Erg Chebbi in Merzouga – one of the most captivating moments in the desert. Following this, enjoy breakfast at the camp, pack your belongings, and prepare to depart, either on camels or by 4×4, bidding farewell to the dunes.

As you return to the asphalt roads, your journey will take you to Marrakech via Alnif, Tazarine, the Draa Valley, Agdez, and Ouarzazate. During our time in Ouarzazate, there will be an opportunity for lunch and a photo stop in front of the renowned Taourirt Kasbah.
