3-day trip from Marrakech to Fès

Experience an extraordinary 3-day journey on the Marrakech to Fes route. Day 1 begins with the stunning Tizi-n-Tichka pass, leading to UNESCO-listed Ait Benhaddou, a cinematic gem. Traverse Skoura palm groves, Tamnalt Hills’ rock formations, and Dades Gorge for a mystical night. Day 2 explores Todra Gorge and culminates with a camel ride to Erg Chebbi’s dunes. Day 3 showcases sunrise in the desert and takes you through Ziz Valley Gorge and cedar forests before reaching Fes. A captivating blend of culture, landscapes, and adventure.

Day 1

Marrakech – Ait Benhaddou – Ouarzazate – Dades Gorge (320 km)

We’ll pick you up from your hotel and begin the journey to Ouarzazate via the famous Tizi-n-Tichka pass, situated at an elevation of 2,260m within the High Atlas Mountains. This marks the start of our Marrakech to Fez trip. Enjoy the captivating and vibrant landscapes as you travel from Marrakech to Ouarzazate, also known as the gateway to the Sahara Desert. Along the way, you’ll encounter the Berber village and pass by Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site renowned for movies like “Lawrence of Arabia” and “Jesus of Nazareth.”

Cross the river to explore the fortified Kasbah atop the hill. Continue on to Ouarzazate, passing through the Skoura palm grove and the Valley of the Roses. This valley is a hub for Moroccan roses and rose-based products. Traverse the unique rock formations of Tamnalt Hills and the Dades Gorge, carved over centuries by the Dades River, before experiencing a mystical night in the heart of the gorge.

Day 2

Dades Gorge – Todra Gorge – Erg Chebbi (Sand Boarding) (300 km)

On the second day of your Marrakech to Fez journey, you’ll encounter another gorge, Todra Gorge, as you pass through the Berber village and the Dades Valley. The canyons, reaching heights of around 300m, provide a trekking opportunity popular among mountain climbers.

Upon concluding your trek, you’ll head towards the Erg Chebbi dunes in the Merzouga Sahara Desert. After lunch in Erfoud, enjoy a 2-hour camel ride through an oasis, relishing the stunning sunset en route. Experience life as a nomad while spending the night beneath a starlit sky, accompanied by Berber music.

Day 3

Merzouga – Midelt – Ifrane – Fez (500 km)

Rise early to witness the sunrise over the dunes of Erg Chebbi, one of the desert’s highlights. After breakfast, embark on the journey towards Fez, passing through the Ziz Valley Gorge and Azrou. As you travel, marvel at the playful monkeys in the lush green cedar forests. Your Marrakech to Fez adventure concludes as we drop you off at your hotel by evening on Day 3.

Hassan’s Wonderful Adventure Hassan showed us a very nice part of Morocco that is only a stone’s throw from Marrakech. There are plenty of wonderful people in the Atlas Mountains and he is one of them. He showed us many wonderful sights on the tour, but also made sure that we got up and down from our trek in one piece. During the hike we also had a chance to learn about local culture, had a wonderful meal and had plenty of opportunities to take photos. Definitely a must do if you don’t mind heights!

RECOMENDABLE 100%

Super Guide in Imlil!!

Ismil We discovered thanks to Hassan in Imlil a nice authentic picture of Maroc witch is not so far of Marrakech We saw the famous waterfall but next we left tourist way to discover a more authentic way in several villages where the colors are beautiful. Hassan explained us his culture and we finished with a delicious tajine in an auberge. Great moment: We recommend Hassan if you want to do this nice experience. And inchallah perhaps we will do another experience with Hassan in the dessert because he organized also this kind of treck.
