4 days trip from Marrakech to Moroccan Desert

Embark on a captivating 4-day journey through the diverse wonders of Morocco. From the UNESCO-listed Ait Ben Haddou kasbah to camel rides in Erg Chebbi dunes, each day unveils new treasures. The tour showcases iconic film locations, picturesque oases, and the majestic High Atlas Mountains, ending with a warm drop-off in Marrakech. A true adventure!

Day 1

Marrakech – Ouarzazate – Dades Gorge:

Depart from Marrakech through the Tizi n’Tichka pass and visit the Ait Ben Haddou kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1987 and a filming location for famous movies like Lawrence of Arabia, The Mummy, Gladiator, and Astérix.

Explore the cinema studios in Ouarzazate, then pass by the Oasis Sekoura and visit the Amredil kasbah, followed by the Valley of the Roses and the scenic road of the Kasbahs in Kalaat M’gouna.

Experience the famous annual Festival of the Roses and witness the extraction of natural products from the roses. Continue the journey to the enchanting Dadès Valley and Gorges, known for its stunning oases.

Overnight in a hotel.

Day 2

Dades Gorge – Todra Gorge – Merzouga:

After breakfast, we will continue our journey towards the desert, following a road once used by commercial caravans crossing the Anti Atlas of Tafilalet Valley to reach the Valley of Draa. Here, we will witness landscapes with vibrant ocher, red, mauve, and black desert Hamadas, surrounded by rocky plateaus where camels graze.

The desert adventure will be filled with stunning landscapes, oases, and palm trees as we make our way to Rissani. We’ll stop at its famous market to enjoy a refreshing mint tea before continuing the desert route towards the Erg Chebbi dunes.

Upon arrival at the camp, we’ll have some time to relax before embarking on a thrilling camel ride through the sand dunes of Erg-Chebbi, where we’ll witness a breathtaking sunset.

Day 3

Merzouga – Rissani – Zagora:

Departing from Merzouga, we will head towards Zagora, taking an off-road route that passes through M’haresh oasis. We will have lunch at an inn amidst the desert landscape.

Afterward, we will continue towards the fascinating village of Tamegroute, renowned for its underground kasbahs, pottery, ceramics, and a splendid library dating back to the 17th century. The library preserves illuminated manuscripts of the Quran, written on the skin of gazelles, along with historical and medical works.

The night will be spent at the hotel Kasbah in Zagora.

Day 4

Zagora – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech:

Return to Marrakech by Ait Ben Haddou while crossing the valley of Daraa (to make stops to take photographs of the palm plantation and the Kasbahs). Visit the widespread Heritage Site of Ait Benhaddou Kasbah as it has been named by Unesco in 1987.

Ait Benhaddou is the World Heritage site that has been utilized as a setting for more than 20 movies incorporating “Gladiator” “Indiana Jones” and “Lawrence of Arabia”. Revel in a stroll to investigate the universal Moroccan style of construction modeling in which the Kasbahs are constructed.

We proceed our approach to Marrakesh through the High Atlas Mountains and Tizi n’tichka pass. Soften for lunch up the center of the Atlas Mountains.

Drop off at your Marrakech hotel.

Hassan’s Wonderful Adventure Hassan showed us a very nice part of Morocco that is only a stone’s throw from Marrakech. There are plenty of wonderful people in the Atlas Mountains and he is one of them. He showed us many wonderful sights on the tour, but also made sure that we got up and down from our trek in one piece. During the hike we also had a chance to learn about local culture, had a wonderful meal and had plenty of opportunities to take photos. Definitely a must do if you don’t mind heights!

RECOMENDABLE 100%

Super Guide in Imlil!!
